Roster coverage and ethical walls
- Inherited counsel roleEvery member inherits the counsel role on each engaged client, so a colleague can cover a queue without a separate invite.
- Ethical wallsFirm admins can restrict an engagement to named members; everyone else at the firm loses access, firm admins retain it.
- Lead-attorney routingThat attorney receives the client's handoff notifications instead of the whole roster.
- Client controlThe company sees which firm members are seated and can end the engagement from its own settings.
Referrals and the dashboard
- Join linkThe company lands in onboarding with your firm already seated as counsel, and you are notified when it goes live.
- Professional seats onlyA referral grants a professional seat, never a company role, and no cash changes hands; attorney fee-splitting rules forbid it.
- Risk-sorted portfolioEvery reachable client with health score, next deadline (ET), and filings awaiting review, closest deadline first.
Access is not a signature
Sign-off records the individual attorney's attestation, typed signature, bar credentials, and the exact document version; a later edit requires another review. TakePublic is a technology platform, not a law firm.
Frequently asked questions
Is TakePublic free for law firms?
Yes. The firm account, roster, engagements, practice dashboard, and up to 3 watches on the Watchlist are free; the client company holds the only paid subscription.
Can we create an ethical wall around one client?
Yes. A firm admin can restrict an engagement to named members; other firm members have no access to that client, while firm admins retain access.
Who receives a client's handoff notifications?
The firm roster by default. When the engagement has a lead attorney, that person receives them instead.
Can the client see and remove our firm?
Yes. The client company sees exactly which firm members are seated on its account and can end the firm engagement from its own settings.
Can the firm sign a filing?
No. Sign-off is always personal: an individual licensed attorney's attestation and bar credentials are locked to the exact version before anything can reach EDGAR.
