FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is TakePublic a law firm?
No. TakePublic is a technology platform and project manager: your own securities attorney, or the reviewer your company designates for Forms 3, 4 and 5, signs off every filing we prepare, and we handle the software, the workflow, and the filing mechanics.
Do you replace my auditor?
No. Your PCAOB audit stays with your audit firm. TakePublic tracks the deadlines, runs the Section 16 workflow with your designated reviewer's sign-off, and keeps the compliance record; none of that needs an auditor seat. Auditor access comes with Core, which is in closed beta, and audit firms cannot sign up before then.
Which filings do you handle?
TakePublic tracks every recurring SEC deadline in ET and drafts and files Section 16 Forms 3, 4, and 5 with your designated reviewer's sign-off. Core, which drafts and files the 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, NT late notices and amendments from your books, is in closed beta. Other obligations, like proxy statements and registration forms, are tracked on your Company calendar and reconciled from EDGAR when your counsel or agent files them.
How does AI drafting stay accurate?
AI drafting is part of Core, which is in closed beta. The financial statements come from your books, never from the AI, and our AI providers are contractually barred from training on your data. The AI writes the narrative only, every sentence cites its source, the figures are checked against each other on every draft, and your securities attorney reviews before anything files.
What does it cost?
Monitor is $499 per month and Section 16 is $999 per month, or $4,990 and $9,990 a year on annual billing, ten months' price. Core is in closed beta and has no price posted yet; request access on its pricing card.
Do you support NASDAQ or NYSE companies?
Yes. The federal filing calendar, Section 16 filing, and the required sign-off are identical for exchange-listed companies. TakePublic does not monitor exchange listing standards.
Can we keep our own securities counsel?
Yes. Invite your attorney to the free counsel seat: they review and sign in the same workspace, with every sign-off bound to the exact document it approves. Monitor requires no attorney at all.
Does our securities counsel pay for TakePublic?
No. Counsel and law firm seats are free; the company holds the only paid subscription. Auditor access comes with Core, which is in closed beta.
Can we file through our own EDGAR agent?
Yes. After counsel signs, export the filing package and record the accession number when it files. The Company calendar reconciles against EDGAR either way.
What does the Company calendar show?
It brings public filings and insider activity, regulatory obligations, internal workflow, and company events into Month and Agenda views, with direct links to the workspace that owns each record.
Do you work with companies outside the United States?
Yes, on the rulebook they report under. A company reporting on Form 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K can use every plan wherever it is based. Foreign private issuers are not open for onboarding yet. A 20-F, 40-F or 6-K filer's free compliance scan has a Notify me form for the day onboarding opens. TakePublic does not serve companies based in countries under comprehensive sanctions, Russia or Belarus.
What happens to our filing records?
Signed records, attestations and the audit log are kept for as long as TakePublic provides the Service and at least seven years, longer than the five years Rule 302(b) of Regulation S-T sets for signed filing records. Every change is recorded in order and cannot be rewritten, and an independent replica is held with a second provider. You may export your records at any time, and they are not deleted when an account, subscription or workspace ends.
How do I get started?
Run a free compliance scan, then open Get started. Your company profile and calendar build from public EDGAR history, and you choose Monitor or Section 16; Core is in closed beta. TakePublic is onboarding companies in order; we email you the day your company can subscribe.
I am a securities attorney. Can I manage my clients here?
Yes. The free practice dashboard shows every client's deadlines and the filings awaiting your review in one place, and you can refer a client from the same page. Audit firms cannot sign up at launch; auditor access comes with Core.
