What sign-off records
- Locked to the versionYour attestation, typed signature, and the exact document version at the moment of signing.
- Voided by any editSubmission re-checks the version and is blocked until you sign the current document.
- Never a submissionYou cannot submit to the filing agent; that stays with the company admin after your sign-off.
Dashboard, rosters, referrals
- Risk-sorted portfolioEvery client reached directly or through the firm, with health score, next deadline (ET), and filings awaiting review.
- Roster coverageFirm members inherit the counsel role on each engaged client; the seat grants access, never a signature.
- Walls and routingA firm admin can restrict a client to named members or route its handoffs to one attorney, and the client can end the engagement.
- Referrals seat youSend a join link and the company lands in onboarding with you already seated; attorney fee-splitting rules forbid cash referral fees.
Changes on the record
- Request changes with a reasonYour reason is recorded on the filing and the draft returns to the company for another pass.
- Still on the recordChange requests, sign-offs and re-reviews stay in the tamper-evident filing record, not in a side channel.
Frequently asked questions
Is TakePublic free for law firms?
Yes. Client work is free for firms; the company's subscription is the only paid account on an engagement.
Does TakePublic give legal advice?
No. TakePublic is a technology platform, not a law firm. Forms prepared in TakePublic file only after review and sign-off by a licensed securities attorney.
What happens if the company edits after I sign?
The document changes, your sign-off no longer applies, and submission is blocked until you review and sign again on the current document.
Can a colleague cover my queue?
Yes, through a firm roster; firm members inherit the counsel role on engaged clients. Sign-off remains the individual attorney's attestation and bar credentials.
Do you pay referral fees?
No. There are no cash referral fees in either direction; attorney fee-splitting rules forbid them.
Free scan

Type a ticker, CIK or company name. The scan reads EDGAR and grades the filing record. No account.
TakePublic is a technology platform, not a law firm, broker-dealer, or auditor. Forms 3, 4 and 5 prepared in TakePublic file only after the reviewer the company designates, such as its securities counsel, signs off; any other filing prepared in TakePublic files only after a licensed securities attorney signs off.
