EDGAR will not accept a live company filing without working filer credentials. The company identity is the Central Index Key (CIK). The CIK Confirmation Code (CCC) authenticates submissions. EDGAR Next is the account and submission framework companies use to manage those credentials and file.
TakePublic stores and verifies company credentials in Settings before a company admin can submit. Credentials alone never bypass counsel: nothing reaches EDGAR without your securities attorney signing off on the exact document hash. TakePublic is not a law firm.
Wrong CCC, mismatched CIK, or an unverified EDGAR Next setup surfaces as a submission error when time is shortest.
Verified credentials authorize the transmission path. They do not authorize the content. Only counsel can move a filing to signed off, and submission re-checks that the sign-off hash still matches. Any edit after sign-off forces a new attorney review before EDGAR sees the filing.
The Central Index Key is the company's EDGAR identifier. TakePublic prefills it from SEC records during onboarding; company admins confirm it in Settings.
The CIK Confirmation Code authenticates EDGAR submissions for that CIK. TakePublic stores it encrypted under Settings, EDGAR credentials.
EDGAR Next is the SEC filer account and submission framework. TakePublic submits through it after counsel sign-off, with TEST mode as the default until credentials are verified.
Yes. After counsel sign-off, export the filing package and file through your own EDGAR agent, then record the accession number. The counsel gate still applies.
No. Forms 3, 4, and 5 file under each reporting person's own CIK and CCC, entered on the Insiders page.
