What Verified on TakePublic means
The check beside your ticker says the company is verified: by an Active delegation, a work email on its website domain, a colleague there, or the contact its filings publish. It is not permission to file.
Where: Settings › Company › Verification
What to do
A company admin verifies the company on Settings › Company, the Verification tab, under Ways to verify. Any one way verifies it, strongest first:
- On Section 16 and Core, an Active EDGAR Next delegation of the company's EDGAR account to TakePublic.
- A company admin signed in with a work email on the website domain the company's SEC filings publish. A personal email address never counts.
- A colleague on that domain signs in and confirms the admin. Confirming gives the colleague no access to the company.
- The investor relations or corporate secretary address a filing from the last 18 months publishes confirms the admin from a one-time link.
Monitor has no delegation step, so a Monitor company verifies by one of the other three ways.
More detail
Once verified, the company reads Verified on TakePublic: a small check beside its ticker in the sidebar, the phone band and Settings › Company. Hover or tap reads the day it was verified. Whatever way verified the company, the check is the same.
Settings › Company also shows the verification as a chip beside the ticker: Verified, with the check, or Unverified. The Verification tab says when the company was verified and how; until then it reads Unverified and says document requests stay inside the company.
When no way can be used, Request verification asks a person at TakePublic to check the company's EDGAR record and who you are.
What it proves
An Active delegation shows that one of the company's own EDGAR account administrators connected its account to TakePublic. A work email, a colleague or the published contact shows that the admin works at the company the SEC filings describe. None of it is filed or public.
What it does not mean
The mark is about identity, not filing. Filing from TakePublic needs Section 16 (Core is in closed beta), and on a filing plan the EDGAR Next delegation to TakePublic as well; on Monitor TakePublic transmits nothing. EDGAR access, a passed test of the company's codes, is its own step on the company check. A company that is not verified shows nothing beside its ticker, never a grey badge.
A verified workspace also protects the company at sign-up: someone else looking up your ticker is told an open, verified workspace exists and is pointed to your team for an invite (see Claimed tickers and verified workspaces).

TakePublic is a technology platform, not a law firm, broker-dealer, or auditor. Forms 3, 4 and 5 prepared in TakePublic file only after the reviewer the company designates, such as its securities counsel, signs off; any other filing prepared in TakePublic files only after a licensed securities attorney signs off.
