Refunds
What is refunded, when, and how to ask. The written policy is at takepublic.com/legal/refunds.
Where: Settings › Billing
What to do
Email hello@takepublic.com from a company admin's address with the company name, the invoice date or amount, and the reason; we reply within five business days.
- A refund goes back through Stripe to the original payment method, usually within five to ten business days.
Cancel any time: the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, and the unused days are not refunded. No refund once a filing has been transmitted. Monitor transmits nothing, so that second rule never applies to it.
The rules
- The rules apply per billing period: a month, or on annual billing the paid year.
- Before any filing has been transmitted in a period, you may ask for that period's payment back in full; a refund ends the plan the day it is issued. Once TakePublic has transmitted a filing to EDGAR in a period, that period's fee and any Core onboarding fee charged with it are not refunded.
- Plan changes are prorated, not refunded: a move down credits the unused part to future invoices, and a credit left when the subscription ends is refunded on request.
- A charge Stripe made in error, such as a duplicate for one invoice, is refunded in full when you tell us.
Where the law that applies to you gives a refund right this policy does not, the law applies.
What you see when a refund is issued
Every refund appears as a Refund line under Refunds and disputes on Settings › Billing, and the refunded invoice's status says so ("Paid, refunded").
- The current period's payment, refunded in full: the plan ends that day, as the policy says, and every company admin gets one email ("Your Monitor plan ended: $499 refunded"). Records stay readable, and Choose a plan starts again.
- A partial refund, or a refund of an earlier period's invoice: the plan keeps running and only the Refund line is added.
- A second paid workspace for a company that already has one is canceled and refunded without a request; the existing workspace's Billing page reads "$499 refunded, a second checkout for this company". The existing plan never changes.
Ask from the help widget if a refund you expect is not shown within two business days of Stripe's confirmation.
