Set up your company

Look up your CIK, confirm fiscal year end, and set filer status for deadline math.

The company profile in Settings. CIK, filer status, and fiscal year end drive deadline math, so keep them current.

Find your company on EDGAR

Search by ticker or CIK during onboarding. TakePublic pulls your legal name, CIK, exchange, and recent filings from SEC records, and prefills your fiscal year end, filer status, and market tier from the same data.

Note

Your real filing history is indexed at the same time, so deadlines already satisfied by past filings show as satisfied and your health score is accurate from day one.

Fiscal year end, filer status, and registration

These fields drive every statutory deadline on your Compliance calendar.

  1. Confirm the prefilled Fiscal year end.
  2. Confirm the prefilled Filer status as non-accelerated, accelerated, or large accelerated.
  3. Choose how you answer to the Exchange Act.
  • Section 12(b): exchange listed. Full periodic, proxy, and Section 16 calendar.
  • Section 12(g): OTC registered. Same calendar as 12(b).
  • Section 15(d) only: periodic reports apply, but proxy and Section 16 obligations are not scheduled.
  • Not SEC reporting (alternative reporting): OTC disclosure deadlines instead of the SEC periodic stack.
Note

You can edit these fields later in Settings; the calendar recomputes, removes obsolete obligations, and never schedules obligations that do not apply to your registration.

Suggested insiders

Onboarding suggests your Section 16 reporting persons from their actual recent Form 3, 4, and 5 filings, including each person's role, officer title, and their own EDGAR CIK.

  1. Select Add to save a suggested insider.
Note

Each insider saves immediately, so skipping the rest of onboarding never loses them.

Onboarding questionnaire

Short questions about known trends and risk topics help the platform tailor drafts. The business description is prefilled from your own public filings where possible. Answers are stored on your tenant profile and can be edited later.
