Getting a copy of your records

What you receive

A company admin downloads one zip of everything the company keeps here from Settings › Company, with Download company records.

A README names the company, the time, who asked and the head of your audit chain, and a manifest lists every file with its size and SHA-256, so a copy handed to counsel or an examiner can be checked for completeness.

  • Every filing as filed or as drafted, with the signed package it was signed against and EDGAR's acceptance record where one exists.
  • Every document your team uploaded.
  • The complete audit trail, with the hash of every event and of the event before it.
  • The people who hold seats, open invitations and your insider roster.
  • The Section 16 record: transactions, holdings, 10b5-1 plans, powers of attorney, pre-clearance decisions and Form 5 answers.
  • Every deadline.
Note

The copy never carries a credential: no EDGAR access codes, passwords, one-time codes or link tokens.

Download it

The download needs a two-step sign-in in this session. One copy builds at a time and three a day; the finished copy's link works for 15 minutes and needs no sign-in, so open it rather than forwarding it.

Each copy is written to the company's audit trail under the name of the admin who made it. A closed company asks support for its copy.

Check it stands on its own

A guide inside the zip, verify.md, explains the check and includes a short program you can run without TakePublic: every hash recomputes from its event, every event links to the one before it, and the last event is the chain head the README names.

Any event recorded after the copy was made, including the record of the copy itself, links onto that head.

Note

TakePublic is a technology platform, not a law firm; the copy is your record, produced for you to keep or to hand to your advisers.

TakePublic is a technology platform, not a law firm, broker-dealer, or auditor. Forms 3, 4 and 5 prepared in TakePublic file only after the reviewer the company designates, such as its securities counsel, signs off; any other filing prepared in TakePublic files only after a licensed securities attorney signs off.
