Set your own reminders for a deadline

Pick the days before and after one due date you want an email or a text about, from the deadline's panel on the Company calendar.

Where: Company calendar

What to do

Open the deadline on the Company calendar, choose Remind me, and tick the days and channels you want.

  1. Open the Company calendar, select the day and open the deadline. The panel leads with the one thing you can do now: on Monitor that is Remind me; on Section 16 and Core it sits under Start draft (or Open filing once a draft exists).
  2. Choose Remind me. The sheet lists the reminder days as dates ("Oct 17 · 30 days before", "Nov 16 · the due date"); tick the ones you want.
  3. Choose email, text, or both. Email reads "Deadline email stays on for company roles." when it is locked for you.
  4. Choose Save reminders. The row is yours alone, for this one deadline; the panel confirms with "Reminders saved", and opening Remind me again shows the days you chose and lets you change or clear them.
Note

A text needs a mobile number with text consent on file; when there is none the sheet records the consent first, and its last line points to Settings › Notifications to change the phone or the other reminder kinds.

Which days you can pick

The days are the deadline alert ladder, in Eastern Time (ET): 30, 14, 7, 3 and 1 days before the due date, the due date, and 1, 3 and 7 days after it. A day off the ladder is not offered, and a reminder stops as soon as the obligation is satisfied or waived.

Note

A Rule 12b-25 extension moves the ladder to the extended date; the days you ticked move with it.

What your row changes, and what stays on

Company admins and company users always get deadline email; your row decides your texts. Counsel, auditors, preparers and directors get email and texts only where a row says so, whether or not Team notifications includes the role. Without a row of your own, the plan's ladder applies as the Deadline alerts article describes.

A row lasts as long as your seat. When you leave the company or are removed from it, or your firm's engagement with it ends, your reminders for its deadlines are deleted with the seat, and nobody without a current seat is emailed or texted about the company's deadlines.

The other rows on the panel

Each row under the primary action says what it does in one line.

  • Add to calendar opens a short menu: Google Calendar or Outlook opens the event filled in for you to save, and Apple Calendar downloads an .ics file any calendar app can open. Each is one all-day event on the due date with a link back to this row.
  • Add a note saves a note on the row, visible to your team, and reads it back inline.
  • Share with counsel appears once counsel is seated on your company and sends one email and bell notice with a link to the row, once a day. A deadline already satisfied or waived cannot be shared: there is nothing for counsel to review, and the panel says so.
  • Open the deadline in a reminder or escalation email lands on this deadline's own row, not on the month.
  • On a plan that does not draft the form, the upgrade named by the plan that does is the last, quiet line; a row EDGAR settles (a 10-K, 10-Q or 8-K your filing agent files) says who files it and what closes it instead of offering a button.
More detail

Sharing the same row again inside 24 hours reads "Already sent to Dana Whitfield in the last 24 hours" and sends nothing more, while counsel seated since your last share still gets the notice. Counsel's bell row carries the due line ("Due Nov 16, 2026 · in 62 days"), and the row their link opens shows who shared it and what they wrote.
